Welcome to Curiosity Mine, a series of online videos about science, history, space and (most importantly) curiosity.
Curiosity Mine works with the amazing people of the Australian Opal Centre, the Lightning Ridge Historical Society, local businesses and other field experts to create videos that entertain and educate.
As a former resident of Lightning Ridge, NSW, I recognise the uniqueness of the community both due to its unusual industry and economy, and due to its amazing community of creative, interesting and genuine people. Among other subjects, my videos include in-depth looks at aspects of life in an opal mining town, Australian outback history, the science of opal from many different perspectives, opalised fossils and palaeontology, and even linguistics and communication on the opal fields.
